Engraver

Co-Director of Sam James Ltd. Specialist in pictorial work, scenes, carving and portraits in silver and gold. Also carries out gun engraving.

Sam did her pre-apprenticeship in engraving at the Sir John Cass School of Art and Design, before going on to an apprenticeship under George Lukes, with whom she eventually went into partnership for several years. She now co-owns Sam James Ltd with James Neville. She is the only woman to have won the Jacques Cartier Memorial Award on two occasions.
