Ruth Anthony

Ruth is an active professional hand engraver, but is unable to accept new clients at present.

Hand engraver based in London undertaking all kinds of engraving on metal, jewellery and silverware for trade customers and private commission, ranging from lettering inscriptions to heraldic and decorative work.

Originally trained in jewellery design and manufacture, Ruth retrained as a hand engraver after taking evening classes. She embarked on a traditional jewellery engraving trainee apprenticeship, and in 2007 set up her own engraving studio in London. She has since expanded her engraving repertoire thanks to the Queen Elizabeth Scholarship Trust which enabled her to study gun engraving techniques at Purdey and Holland & Holland and work for acclaimed designer engraver Malcolm Appleby.
